Gatlinburg Ablaze

Raging wildfires have reached parts of Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Mandatory evacuations have been called for people living in the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge areas of eastern Tennessee. Flames and high winds reached the popular tourist destination overnight, already destroying more than two dozen buildings, including some in downtown Gatlinburg and the fire continues to grow in the Great Smokey Mountain National Parks. Firefighters and emergency workers are continuing to battle the blaze, despite dangerous winds and dry embers. Rain is expected in the area this week.
