Cross-Country Calamity
Flooding on the East coast and tornadoes on the West kept rescue workers busy over the weekend.
Long after Hurricane Matthews’ departure, floodwaters are still rising in parts of North and South Carolina. More than $1.5 billion dollar’s worth of damage has been estimated so far, with officials still surveying for more. Meanwhile, heavy winds battered the Pacific Northwest, with at lest two confirmed tornadoes touching down in Oregon. Over the next few days, clear skies are expected in both areas, allowing residents and anchorites a chance to asses the damage.
