New Yorkers can be buried with their pets under new law
Pet owners can now take their beloved companions with them to the grave.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed legislation Monday making it legal for the cremated remains of pets to be buried with their owners in human cemeteries.
There are some rules to this new law – the pets must be cremated and religious cemeteries have the right to refuse animal burials. This law comes a year after lawmakers passed a measure allowing dog owners to take their pets in outdoor sections of willing restaurants in New York.
