Clinton leads Trump in South Carolina fundraising

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WFXB) – With only 45 days until the presidential election, Hillary Clinton continues to lead Donald Trump in fundraising in South Carolina. According to the Federal Election Commission, Clinton has raised $1,557,605 in South Carolina this year while Trump has raised $758,998.  Despite Clinton’s evident financial edge on Trump, the GOP nominee has made a large improvement in recent months. In May, Trump only accrued $70,294 in donations in the heavily-Republican Palmetto State.

There is a distinct regional breakdown in South Carolinians’ giving patterns this presidential season:

Clinton: $281,207

Trump: $35,867

Clinton: $213,912
