More Loss in Louisiana

The death toll from the devasating floods in Louisiana continues to rise.

As communities in Louisiana try to keep water out, the death toll continues to rise. At least thirteen people have died since rain began last Friday, and while the weather may be cooperating, the water continues to rise as it moves downstream. Governor John Bel Edwards has been touring the hardest hit parishes, while Mayor Mike Lambert believes three-quarters of his town of Sorrento is submerged, including his house. President Obama has signed a disaster declaration for the area. However, despite the major losses,  the community (and surrounding area) has bonded together to volunteer and distribute needed supplies.
