Democrats staged a sit-in on the house floor and refused to leave until they secured a vote on gun control measures.
The House’s legislative work was shut down on Wednesday. Democratic House members staged a sit-in on the House floor and refused to leave until they secured a vote on con control measures before lawmakers go on a week-log recess. Even with the usual television cameras off, lawmakers were able to broadcast over social media. The action comes in the wake of the Orlando nightclub shooting, and the subsequent gun control measures voted down by the Senate last week.
