Airshows Go Awry

Two elite military planes were involved in unrelated crashes yesterday.

What was supposed to be a special day for the newly-graduated cadets at the US Air Force Academy has been overshadowed by the separate crashes of specialized military planes. Following the ceremony’s airshow, one of the Thunderbirds came to a stop in an empty field, the pilot already ejected and expected to be okay. Military officials say he made an effort to land the plane in an underpopulated area before ejecting. However, the news from Smyrna, Tennessee is not as hopeful, as one of the famous Blue Angels crashed in a fireball following a practice run; the pilot of that jet did not survive.
