Former Saint Shot Down

Former NFL layer Will Smith was killed Saturday night after an apparent road rage incident.

Former New Orleans Saints DL Will Smith has died after a possible road rage incident that ended in a shooting. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene while his wife was taken to the hospital. Suspect Cardell Hayes has been arrested, who has an apparent connection to Smith. While nothing has been confirmed, Hayes’ father was killed by police following a standoff and Smith’s dining companion was a former officer named in Hayes’ civil suit in response to his father’s death.

Smith retired in 2012 after playing with the Saints for nine years and was a member of the the 2010 Super Bowl Champion team.
