Charlotte Motor Speedway Cup Race Schedule Set

CHARLOTTE, NC (WCCB Charlotte) –Charlotte Motor Speedway remains in its two customary schedule and time-slots for the Sprint Cup series.

NASCAR revealed the schedule for the 2016 season on Tuesday morning. The spring cup race, the Coca Cola 600, will take place Sunday, May 29th, with the green flag set to drop at 6 p.m. The fall race, The  Bank of America 500, will again be scheduled for a Saturday. The ‘Chase Race’ will be the fifth of ten in the playoff series and is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.

Additionally, Charlotte Motor Speedway will host All-Star weekend festivities with the Sprint Showdown scheduled for Friday, May 20th and the All-Star Race on the following night.

Last year, Charlotte’s lone stop on the PGA Tour, the Wells Fargo Championship, coincided with a NASCAR race weekend. That will not be the case this season as the golf tournament is set for May 2-8 at Quail Hollow Golf Club.
