Rain Gardening class
Rain Gardening: Protecting our water in a beautiful way Thursday April 16, 2015 9:30 am – Noon Registration: $15.00 per person Now more than ever, protecting out water from pollutants is highly important. Rain gardens have been designed to retain polluted water from our hardscapes, purify it, and release clean water back into our water system. These resilient gardens can handle drought and flooding conditions, are aesthetically pleasing, and attract wildlife. This class will be taught by Rebecca Turk, who received her MS degree in horticulture, focused on rain gardens. She will teach you all there is to know about these gardens including proper location, construction, plant selection, and care. To fully understand proper site selection, she will point out ideal rain garden sites in the garden and discuss the characteristics of each. Our class registration is limited to the first 20 participants, so register quickly! All material for the class will be supplied, including many wonderful rain garden plants to take home. Also, if you have any special needs for the class, please contact Rebecca Turk at rturk@moorefarmsbg.org or by phone at (843) 373-8068. We look forward to seeing you here!
