ATLANTA, GA – Tony Stewart returned to the race track on Sunday for his first race since the accident when he hit and killed Kevin Ward, Jr. during a sprint-car race in upstate New York on August 9th

Both fans and drivers alike where happy to see Stewart back on the track.  But Stewart’s return was short lived when he hit a rail after Kyle Bush’s #18 car got loose, sending both Bush and Stewart into the wall with Stewart moving him back into the pack.   He eventually dropped out of the race, finishing 41st, after blowing a tire and hitting the wall for a second time.

Kasey Kahne ended up taking the checkered flag on Sunday.  It was his first win of the season and helped punch his ticket to the chase for the Cup.
