Coastal Canines Compete at Dog Agility Event

Athletic performance dogs and their human handlers meet for a dog agility competition. Pure bred and mixed breed dogs of all sizes, shapes and levels of agility expertise come to run, jump, balance and climb for some four-footed excitement this coming weekend. Rival teams race against the time clock buzzer and each other as they maneuver obstacle courses filled with hurdles, weave poles, teeter-totters, A-frames and tunnels on the only dog agility field in South Carolina sanctioned by Canine Performance Events, Inc. A Way to Play, the Myrtle Beach area’s only dog agility club, hosts the weekend’s competition on Friday, March 14th from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.; on Saturday, March 15th from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.; and on Sunday, March 16th from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at A Dog’s Way Inn, 761 Pendergrass Avenue (behind T-Bones Steak House), Murrells Inlet, SC. With over 200 fast-paced races each day, dog agility is a great spectator sport. The public is welcome to cheer and watch at no charge. Refreshments will be available at Shell Crackers, the on-site dog-friendly restaurant.
