Carolina Panthers win streak good for business
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The Carolina Panthers five-game win streak has the team hoping for a playoff spot. The Charlotte Observer reports (http://bit.ly/1eHihve) that the winning streak is also good for downtown businesses. The team has its longest winning streak in eight years. Next Monday night’s game is against the New England Patriots, the team that beat Carolina in its only Super Bowl appearance. Don Burgoon of Picasso’s Sports Cafe says he usually has five people working Monday nights. He’ll have 17 people next Monday to serve those who need tailgating food, watching the game in the restaurant and those who come in after the contest. Norm Randall offers shuttle service to Bank of America Stadium. He says he might have 25 riders when the Panthers are losing. He’s expecting 100 passengers next Monday. ___ Information from: The Charlotte Observer, http://www.charlotteobserver.com
