Spirit Night:Cotillion Beautillion Program Fundraiser
On Thursday, May 31, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Horry County residents and youth will have an opportunity to help make a difference in the lives of some very deserving youth. Mu Iota Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and the Mu Epsilon Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., are asking the community to visit the Chick-fil-A® of Conway where a percentage of the sales will be donated to the Cotillion/Beautillion Program. This is the kick-off fundraiser for the 2012 Cotillion-Beautillion Program. The Cotillion Beautillion Program is a nine-month program for highly deserving youth, which teaches high moral and technical character, social etiquette skills and a sense of responsibility and achievement. Select students from Horry County Schools participate in educational workshops, service projects and bonding activities that positively reinforce critical self-esteem principles. Additionally, funds raised go towards awarding several scholarships for scholastic achievement, community service, fundraising efforts and overall participation in the Cotillion Beautillion Program. At the conclusion of the program young ladies (debutantes) and young men (beaus) are presented to society through a formal Cotillion-Beautillion Ball. The 2012 Cotillion-Beautillion Ball will be held on Jan. 19, 2013.
