CPT William Swafford, an infantry officer, graduated from Mercyhurst College in 2008. He is a Airborne Ranger and was deployed to Afghanistan in 2010, receiving a Bronze Star and the Order of St. Maurice. He will return to the United States later this month to begin Captain’s Career Course at Fort Huchucha and branch detail to Military Intelligence.
