Schroeder, Margie Buhl
Margie Buhl Schroeder, 88, of Whispering Pines, died Thursday, June 16, 2011, at her home. Margie was born to Emile and Gladys Buhl on 8/18/22 in Fergus Falls, MN. She was preceded in death by her sister, Geraldine, and brother, Douglas. She was an honors student as a youth and champion golfer and expert bridge player throughout her life. Margie met her husband, Carl, after World War II in Washington, D.C. At the time, she worked as the executive secretary to the first Administrator of the National Housing Administration. She is survived by her spouse of 64 years, Carl, 91, of Whispering Pines; five children: Marty, Sacramento, CA; John and wife, Valerie, of Traverse City, MI; Michael and wife, Genevieve, of St. Petersburg, FL; Anne Slusser and husband, John; and Theresa Wyant, of Midland, Mi. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Southern Pines, with the Rev. Monsignor Jeffrey Ingham officiating and Father Robert Shea attending. A burial ceremony at Pinelawn Memorial Park will follow the Mass. The family will receive friends following the graveside service from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Table on the Green.
