Tom Hunt, Sr. of Maxton passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the age of 65. Tom was born February 14, 1946 in Robeson County, son of the late French and Nancy Jacobs Hunt. He medically retired from Edward Wood Products in Laurinburg after many years of service. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother that will be truly missed. He was also preceded in death by brothers, David Hunt, Troy Lee Hunt, Willie French “Dougald” Hunt and sisters, Effie Mae Hunt and Geneva Oxendine. Tom is survived by his wife of 47 years, Annie Jacobs Hunt of their home in Maxton; two sons, Tom Hunt, Jr. and wife Natasha of Maxton, David Hunt and wife Susan of Laurinburg; step daughter, Joyce Locklear and husband Kenneth of Maxton; his brother, Rev. Floyd Hunt of Maxton; three sisters, Carol Brown of Maxton, Stroudy Hunt and Minnie Smith both of Laurinburg; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 18th at Richard Boles Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at the Youth for Christ Church with burial following at the New Life Holiness Church Cemetery in Maxton. Rev. Daniel Locklear and Rev. Carson Smiling will officiate the services.
