Schulze, Frederick Killian
Frederick Killian Schulze, 78, of Florence, S.C., died Friday, June 10, 2011 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence. He was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, a son of the late Frederick Carl Schulze and the late Dorothea Margaret Boyd Schulze. Fred was an incredible husband, father, grandfather, friend, and colleague. His charm was his insatiable interest in anything and everything going on around him. His wisdom influenced everyone who loved, knew, and trusted him. He was proud of his many accomplishments. He was passionate about doing things right and never compromised his beliefs or values. In business, he influenced many as President of Basler Electric, ESAB, Miller Electric Manufacturing, and in his earlier careers at International Rectifier and Harnischfeger (A.O. Smith). Beyond business, he was a very proud American serving as a Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army, earning his Eagle Scout, and receiving the Order of the Arrow as a member of Boy Scouts of America. His love for life was displayed as a great strategist with diverse hobbies and interests by land and by sea; from reading war and presidential history to watching his favorite sports and yachting with his family. But above all, he was most proud of his marriage of 56 years to his loving wife, Judy, an unbelievable family, and friends in every place he lived or worked. His unconditional love for God, his family and friends was passionate. He is survived by his wife, Judith Elizabeth O‘Donnell Schulze of Florence, S.C., four children, Frederick James Schulze of Eagan, Minnesota, Elizabeth Ann Haack (Russell) of Naperville, Illinois, Mary Leigh Van Sistine (Pete) of Jacksonville, Florida, Daniel Killian Schulze (Stephanie) of Atlanta, Ga., a brother, Joseph Michael Schulze (Emily) of Aurora, Illinois, a sister, Mary Anne Schaefer of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, eight grandchildren, Sara Anne Haack, Kevin Russell Haack, Nicholas Peter Van Sistine, Shannon Rae Schulze, Lindsay Elizabeth Van Sistine, Miles Christian Schulze, Alexander Killian Schulze, Hannah Hiller Schulze and his beloved dog, Charlie Mozart.
