Willa Mae Poston Johnson, 88, a beloved mother and grandmother and the widow of Jesse Woodrow Johnson, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 12, 2011, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. Mrs. Johnson was born a daughter Crawford Poston and Corine Smith Poston on December 16, 1922 in the Hanna community of Florence County. She leaves behind: six children, Joe Poston, Jim (Louise) Poston, Daisie Carpenter, Gerald (Lynn) Poston, Cherrie (Shakey) Madden, and Helen (Frank) MacFarland; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one sister, Mary “Bunk” Poston; and a large extended family including, Clara Poston, Carol Poston, and number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by: her parents; her husband; three brothers, James Poston, Gurvis Poston, and Jessie Poston; and a sister, Sarah Ward. A Home Going Celebration will be 10 AM, Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in the Prosser Cemetery directed by the Hemingway Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8, Tuesday, June 14, 2011, in the Hemingway Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Johnsonville Rescue Squad. McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Poston-Johnson Family.
