Berry Eugene “Bubba” Cooke age 49, died June 3, 2011 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence after an illness. Born in Hampton County he was the son of Cora Crapse Cooke and the late Berry Cooke. “Bubba” was employed by Nan-ya Plastics where he worked as a plastic cremper operator, he was a member of New Covenant Pentecostal Church in Turbeville. He is survived by his wife, Daisy McLaughlin Cooke of Turbeville, one daughter; Cherish Leanna (Joshua Edward) Wirtz of Turbeville, and one son; Dusty Lee (Sarah Coleman) Cooke of New Zion, two sisters; Debbie Sanders of Earhardt, Peggy (Ronnie) Phillips of Santee, two brothers; Randy (Terry) Cooke of Cottageville, Wesley (April) Cooke of Walterboro, and three grandchildren; Carlie, Gage and Kiley, special niece; Irelyn “Tootie” Welch and other nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 5pm, Monday, June 6, 2011 at New Covenant Pentecostal Church with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. Visitation will be from 6-8, Sunday, (tonight) June 5, 2011 at the funeral home.
