Hunt, Louberta
Louberta “Mother” Oxendine Hunt, age 93, of 1628 J.W. Road, Fairmont, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2011 at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon, SC. She was born in Robeson County on February 15, 1918 to the late James Oliver Oxendine and Leola Hammonds Oxendine. Mrs. Hunt is survived by one daughter, Sonja Hunt and husband, Jerry “Ponkey”; eight sons, Kendell Hunt and wife, Glois, Elton B. Hunt and wife, Paulette, James K. “Shorty” Hunt and wife, Patsy, Eugene Hunt and wife, Robin, Jimmy Hunt and special friend, Yvonne, Tommy Dorsey Hunt and wife, Sue, Mitchell Hunt and Garry Hunt; a special daughter, Vivian Oxendine; a special friend and caregiver, Hope Meggs and Family; three brothers, J.O. Oxendine, James O. Oxendine and Jerry Oxendine; five sisters, Annie Pearl Cintron, Annie Ruth Chavis, Pearlie Mae Mercerado, Bertie Lee Morgan and Magenta Hunt; twenty-five grandchildren and thirty-eighteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at 3:00PM at New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church in Rowland with Rev. Alonzo Oxendine and Rev. Dwayne Lowry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday evening, May 28, 2011 from 7:00-9:00PM at New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church in Rowland other times at the home at 1628 J.W. Road, Fairmont.
