Matthews, Randy Louie

Randy Louie Matthews, 56, husband of Patsy Antwine Matthews, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at his residence after an illness. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 11th, at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton, SC. Mr. Matthews was born on April 23, 1955, in Florence County a son of the late Harlin Louie Matthews and Ruby Lee Kirby Matthews. He attended Camp Branch Church of God of Prophecy and was a retired truck driver with Carter Transfer Company of Lake City. Mr. Matthews was a devoted Nascar fan with his favorite drivers being Dale Earnhardt, Jr., and the late Dale Earnhardt. He loved to play golf, and he was a U. S. Army veteran. Mr. Matthews was a loving husband, father and PaPa who will be greatly missed. Surviving are: His wife, Patsy Antwine Matthews of Scranton; sons, Derrick L. Matthews and his wife, Christine and Bryan J. Matthews and his wife, Melanie, all of the Camp Branch Community; grandchildren, Alyssa Miranda Matthews, Ashly Denise Matthews, Matthew Logan Gray, Ethan Hunter Gray and Layla Bryant Matthews; sisters, Wanda Parker and her husband, Ronnie of Barrineau and Sondra Matthews of Lake City; brother, Sonny Matthews and his wife, Phyllis of Lake City; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Hubert and Barbara Antwine, Leon and Debbie Antwine, Billy and Maria Antwine and Melva and Mason Myers. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Miranda Matthews; his paternal and maternal grandparents; father and mother-in-law, Jack and Mary B. Antwine and a niece, Melanie L. Parker. Funeral services will be at 4:00 P.M. Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Camp Branch Church of God of Prophecy. Burial will be in Strickland-Feagin Cemetery.
