Quick, Mildred

Mildred “Dolly” Burdell Quick, of Laurel Hill passed to her heavenly home on Monday, May 2, 2011 at the age of 86. Mildred was born August 22, 1924 in Anson County. She was the daughter of the late Walter Burdell and Ruth Carman Burdell and the beloved wife of the late J.W. “Jake” Quick, Sr. She retired from Toastmaster Incorporated after many years of service. Later in life, Dolly loved being a nanny for many little ones. She faithfully served the Lord and was a longtime member of the Springfield Church of God. Dolly will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Gene Burdell, J.W. Burdell, Edna Poole, Nellie Williamson and Helen Sellers. Mrs. Quick is survived by two sons, John “Johnny” W. Quick and wife Debbie of Laurinburg, Richard Quick of Laurinburg; her daughter, Nancy Miller and husband Doug of Laurinburg; six grandchildren, Carman Miller, Amy Davis and husband Michael, Wesley Quick and wife Mary, Josh Quick US Army in Iraq, Mandy Quick, Marc Quick and wife April, great grandson, Jake Davis and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4th at Richard Boles Funeral Service. The family request that memorials donations be made in memory of Mrs. Quick to the Springfield Church of God Building Fund, 10101 Gibson Road, Laurel Hill, NC 28351 Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the Springfield Church of God with burial following in Pinecrest Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Rev. Dan Carter, Rev. Carl Fosdick and Rev. Mike Waters.
