Sadie Elizabeth McCall Maurer, 94, died May 2, 2011 at Kingswood Nursing Center in Aberdeen. She is survived by daughters Kay Maurer Stevens and husband Gerald Stevens of Aberdeen, NC, Barbara Maurer Jones and husband Anderson Jones of Rowland, N.C., Elizabeth Maurer Foley of Whiteville, N.C.; sons Robert Allen Maurer and wife Clara Vaughn Maurer; and William Arthur “Artie” Maurer both of Aberdeen, NC; nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; sisters Louise McCall McFall of Charlotte, NC; Marie McCall Blue and husband John Blue of Southern Pines, NC and Reba McCall Birdsall and husband Norm Birdsall of Winston-Salem, N.C.; sister-in-law Mildred Covington McCall of Raleigh, NC; and special nieces and nephews. She was the widow of the late Robert Allen “Bob” Maurer and was preceded in death by her parents Arthur Hall and Letha Anderson McCall; sisters, Corrine McCall Pusser and Edna McCall Gaddy; brothers, Clifton McCall, James Edward McCall, Cecil Anderson McCall, and Billy Gene McCall; and daughter-in-law Rose Klingenschmidt Maurer. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines. Memorial Contributions may be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen, NC. Burial will follow at Bethesda Cemetery.
