LAKE CITY: Mr. Lenwood O‘Neal “Buddy” Lamb, 78, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 24th, 2011 after a long illness. Mr. Lamb was born in Florence County on September 9th, 1932. He was a son of the late LeRoy G. Lamb and the late Juanita Matthews Lamb, and was the husband of Clara Ann Anderson Lamb. Mr. Lamb was a member of Lake City Presbyterian Church. He retired from the Lake City State Bank in 1985 as Executive Vice President after thirty-three years of service. Mr. Lamb was a member of the Lake City Lodge #193 A.F.M., the Lake City Lions Club, and the Lake City Developmental Corporation. He was a long-time member of the Florence County Council, and served as Lake City Town Administrator. Mr. Lamb was a people-person. He never met a stranger, and would generously give to see that others were cared for. Mr. Lamb was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. Mr. Lamb‘s surviving family includes his wife, Clara Ann Lamb, of the home; his two children, Marlene Lamb Day (John), and Lenwood O‘Neal Lamb, II; his three grandchildren, Sydney Day, Madison Lamb, and Nealy Lamb, all of Cades; his sister, Roylee Lee; and his brother, Raymond Lamb, both of Lake City. The family of Mr. Lamb will have visitation from six until eight o‘clock p.m., Tuesday, April 26th, 2011 in the funeral home; and at other times in the home of Mrs. Marlene L. Day, 5 Justice Street in Cades. Funeral services for Mr. Lamb will be held at four o‘clock p.m., Wednesday, April 27th, 2011 in the Brockington Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the funeral services in the Lake City Cemetery. Brockington Funeral Home, Lake City, is in charge.
