Buczny, Alice Marie

Alice Marie Gunn-Buczny, 72, of Carolina Trace, passed away April 22, 2011 in Sanford, NC. Alice was born January 26, 1939 in Chevy Chase, MD, daughter to Theodore and Margaret Meeker. Alice graduated from St. Joseph College in Emmitsburg, Md. She was a devoted wife and mother raising her family in Huntington, Long Island. After working as a Legal Secretary she retired with her first husband, John, to the Carolina Trace Community in Sanford, NC in 1995. Alice loved to play golf and was very proud of her 2 hole-in-ones. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, working crossword puzzles, and playing bridge. Alice had a heart of gold and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Alice is survived by her husband, Frank Buczny of Carolina Trace, daughter, Debbie Reichel (Paul) of Syracuse, NY, daughter, Denise Jacobs (Mitchell) of Elon, NC, son, John Gunn (Natalie) of Ronkonkoma, NY, step-son, Michael Buczny (Merissa) of Eatontown, NJ, step-son, Steven Buczny of Bangkok, Thailand, sister Doree Marx (Charles) of Shrewsbury, NJ and 12 dear grandchildren. Alice was preceded in death by her first husband, John Gunn and her son, Michael Gunn. Services will be held at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Tuesday April 26, 2011 at 2:00pm with Msgr. Stephen Worsley officiating.
