James Randall “Randy” Harrell was born in Florence County on November 29, 1961. He lost his battle with cancer on April 18, 2011. Randy was the son of Rosa Lee Kersey Harrell Lane and the late Dan C. Harrell. He was an active member of Woodstone Hunting Club of Florence, where he enjoyed taking his grandkids hunting and fishing. Randy loved playing golf and his Clemson Tigers. Randy is survived by his wife, Betty Brown Harrell of Darlington; his daughter, Kim (David) Merchant of Cheraw; his grandchildren, Cara Lee (Kevin) Markham of Germany, Rodney Phillip Tyndall and Kelsey Miranda Tyndall both of Cheraw; one great-grandchild, Brinkley Markham of Germany; his brothers, Andy Harrell, Jerry Harrington, Ronny (Jenny) Nettles, Wayne (Melissa) Nettles, and Sammy Jo Nettles all of Florence; his sisters, Linda Gerald, Marlene (Carey) Evans, Cindy (Mike) McElveen all of Florence, Dana Harrell of Texas, and Farrah (Richard) Jones of Maryland; 20 nieces and nephews; and a host of great nieces and nephews; and other special friends. Randy was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Gibbs of Florence; his sister-in-laws, Sylvia Middleton and Mary Dorsey both of Darlington. The family would like to thank Dr. Parker Lilly and his staff, the McLeod Hospice House and Ronnie (Diane) Sellers of Sellers Septic Tank for their wonderful care and love shown to Randy and his family before and during his illness. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 6 PM in the Chapel of Kistler Hardee Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service on Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 4 until 6 PM at the funeral home and other times at the residence, 320 Elvin Drive, Darlington.
