Dell Douglas Parker, 83, of Darlington died on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Parker was born in Darlington. She was the daughter of the late Willie James and Emma Mears Douglas. She worked with Dixie Cup and retired from GE. Mrs. Parker was an avid reader and loved working in her yard and tending to her flowers. She was a wonderful lady with a sweet loving spirit and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Surviving are her sons, Glenn Parker and his wife, Lori of Wichita Falls, Texas and David Parker of Bishopville; her daughter-in-law, Jane Davis Parker of Florence; her brother, Jimmy Douglas and his wife, Margaret of Darlington; her sisters, Ann Watford of Florence and Jean Hatchell and her husband, David of Chapin, SC; 9 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her son, Randall “Randy” Fredrick Parker. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Kistler Hardee Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Darlington Memory Gardens.
