Faulk, Gladys Purvis

Gladys Purvis Faulk, age 94, of Lumberton, previously of Fairmont, passed away on Friday, April 08, 2011 at Wesley Pines Retirement Community in Lumberton. She was born in Robeson County on May 29, 1916 to the late Clyde Flowers and Maggie Johnson Flowers. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Leroy Purvis; her second husband, W.G. Faulk; a son, Charles Lynwood Faulk; a daughter, Barbara Gail Faulk; five brothers, Gilbert Britt, Calvin Flowers, Wayland Flowers, Alec Flowers and Horace Flowers; two sisters, Nettie Grainger and Madeline McFee; and a granddaughter, Patti Purvis. She is survived by three sons, Lawrence Purvis and wife, Mary of Charlotte, NC, Bruce Faulk and wife, Elise of Fairmont, NC and Bobby Faulk of Fairmont, NC; one daughter, Sarah Faulk Dean and husband, Spencer of Little River, SC; one brother, Glenn Flowers of Goldsboro, NC; one sister, Margaret McCormick of Fairmont, NC; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 3:00PM at Bethesda United Methodist Church in Fairmont with Rev. Brian Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Barnesville Community Cemetery in Orrum. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 2:00-3:00PM, prior to the service, at Bethesda United Methodist Church.
