Feagin, Bernice
LAKE CITY: Mrs. Bernice M. Feagin, 84, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 3rd, 2011, in her home after a long illness. Mrs. Feagin was born in Williamsburg County on October 7th, 1926. She was a daughter of the late Thomas Mims and the late Hezeltine Miles Mims and was the widow of the late Lonzo Feagin. Mrs. Feagin attended New Piney Grove Freewill Baptist of the Pentecostal Faith Church. The family would like to extend a special, heart-felt “thank-you” to Grethel Filyaw, Elsie McKenzie and Lila McKenzie, and to Amedisys Hospice for the great love and care they gave Mrs. Feagin during her times of need. Mrs. Feagin was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and caring friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Mrs. Feagin‘s surviving family includes her three daughters, Mickie Snowden (Hugh), Mae Matthews (Jerry), both of Hemingway, and Diane Windham, of Barrineau; her three sons, Billy Feagin (Laurice), David Feagin (Sandy), both of Hebron, and Barry Feagin (Debbie), of Newberry; her brother, Vinroe Mims (Linda), of Barrineau; her three sisters, Ola Mae Welch, of Barrineau, Grethel Filyaw and Dolly Matthews (Larry), both of Cades, her fifteen grandchildren; her seventeen great-grandchildren; and her two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Feagin was preceded in death by her brother, Troy Mims. The family of Mrs. Feagin will have calling hours from six until eight o‘clock p.m., Tuesday, April 5th, 2011 in Floyd‘s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Funeral services for Mrs. Feagin will be held at one o‘clock p.m., Wednesday, April 6th, 2011 in Floyd‘s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow the funeral services in Terrell‘s Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery. Brockington Funeral Home, Lake City, is in charge.
