Mr. Nehemiah Rogers, 81, of 3782 W. Carthage Road, Lumberton was born May 25, 1929 to the late Mr. Chambers & Mrs. Aganora Jacobs Rogers and died Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. He was also preceded in death by his wife: Mrs. Viola Rogers; three brothers: Mr. Clayton Rogers, Mr. Bruce Rogers and Mr. Waylis Thomas Rogers; two sisters: Mrs. Stella Taylor and Mrs. Louise Hunt Jones. Mr. Rogers was the founder of Rogers‘ Appliances and was retired from Converse after 28 years of service. Surviving are two sons: Mr. Waylis Rogers and his wife: Mrs. JoAnne of Lumberton and Mr. Tommy Rogers and his wife: Mrs. Pearl of Laurinburg; three daughters: Ms. Patsy Locklear, Ms. Frances Locklear both of Lumberton and Ms. Marion Rogers of the home; two brothers: Mr. Layton Rogers of Lumberton and Mr. Ralph Rogers of Fairmont; a sister: Mrs. Lorrean Chavis of Pembroke; a special friend: Ms. Mayola Locklear; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. The funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Reedy Branch Baptist Church with the Revs: Hilton Woodell and Steve Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in the Reedy Branch Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, March 28, 2011, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
