Barfield, Willie Mae

Mrs. Barfield died Thursday, March 24th, 2011. Born in Darlington County, she was the daughter of the late Johnie Maxie Weaver and Mattie Marie Gainey Weaver. She was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, served as Beginners Sunday School teacher, GA and Acteen Leader, member of WMU. She was active in the Community Crime Watch and Clemson Extension Homemakers Club Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, William Boyd (Pete) and Cecelia Barfield of Chesterfield, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Alesia and Steve Christman of Lilburn, GA; grandchildren, Joe Barfield, Dana Barfield, Emily Christman; great grandchild, Danny Barfield. She was preceded in death by her sister, Johnie Ree Tweed, brother, James Maxie Weaver; survived by her sisters, Grace Elizabeth Barefoot and Maggie Jane Parnell. Funeral services for Willie Mae Barfield, 81, will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church. The Reverends Ed Griggs, Howard Walters, and Jef Williams will officiate with burial in Cedar Creek Cemetery. Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home is serving the family. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 26, 2011 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
