“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;” Ecclesiastes 3: 1-2 Mr. James Edward Brown, the son of the late James Harrison Brown and Bessie L. Williams Brown was born January 26, 1932 in Florence, South Carolina. On Saturday, March 5, 2011 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania after a brief illness, he entered into eternal rest. James attended the public schools of Florence County and graduated from Wilson Senior High School. He later enlisted into the United States Army where served for several years and received an honorable discharge. James relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he lived until the time of his passing. At an early age, he joined and was baptized at Trinity Baptist Church, Florence, SC. He leaves to cherish his memories: one son, Joseph Brown Ray of Aiken, SC; three sisters, Margaret Brown of Willingboro, NJ; Eunice Darby of Florence, SC; and Peggy Lawrence of Columbia, SC; one brother, Clayton, Sr. “Clay” (Margaret) Brown of Florence, SC; four nieces; 13 nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
