Locklear, James Sylvin

Mr. James Sylvin Locklear, 71, of 7023 NC Hwy 72 West, Pembroke was born February 10, 1940 and died Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. Mr. Locklear grew up in the Mt. Airy Community where he lived and provided for his family. Mr. Locklear is survived by his wife: Mrs. Martha Jane Locklear of the home; five sons: Mr. David Locklear(Barbara), Mr. Michael Locklear(Victoria), Mr. James Locklear(Ethena), Mr. Cedric Locklear(Rhonda) all of Pembroke and Mr. Jimmy Locklear(Angie) of Maxton; four brothers: Mr. Leo Locklear, Mr. Joseph Locklear, Jr., Mr. Tyronne Locklear and Mr. Ronnie Locklear all of Pembroke; two sisters: Ms. Connie Locklear of Pembroke and Ms. Bebe Locklear of Virginia; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. Joseph & Mrs. Margie Carter Locklear; a son: Mr. Ricky Locklear; a sister: Mrs. Nancy Louise Locklear-Ragsdale and two brothers: Mr. Benjamin Locklear and Mr. Jerome Locklear. The funeral will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Revs: Steve Strickland and Andrew Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Oxendine Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, March 5, 2011, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
