Evans, Brian Dwayne

CONWAY…Brian Dwayne Evans, 44, died Friday at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center following injuries received in an accident. Mr. Evans was born Nov. 30, 1966 in Conway, a son of Leslie Evans and Linda Hatcher Atkinson. He was currently a student at Horry Georgetown Tech. College, working towards a history/psychology profession. He had also previously earned a degree in landscaping. Brian was very successful in arts and crafts and served as Director of Arts & Crafts with the Waccamaw Indian people. He was very active in “The Pau Wau” and was instrumental in ground development on the Tribal Grounds. He was also an apprentice Fire Keeper/Spiritualist with the tribe. Surviving in addition to his Dad of TX and his Mom of Conway are a stepdad, Rodney Atkinson of Calabash, NC and step-mom, Sarah Gregg of TX; 2 brothers, Paul D. Evans of Conway and Ryan Brent of TX; 3 sisters, Rodlyn Atkinson and Shawna M. Atkinson of Conway and Audrey Perry of TX. He also had 2 and adoptive brothers, Neil Richard of Loris and Robert Benton of Wilmington, NC and a very special niece, Malia Courtney-Ann Atkinson of Conway. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday at Conway Funeral Services Chapel, 3304 4th Ave., with burial to follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in the Dog Bluff Community.
