PAMPLICO: Mr. Bennie Lee Turner, 78, husband of Louise Poston Turner, died Friday, February 25, 2011, at Carolinas Hospital, Florence, after an illness. Mr. Turner was born on April 28, 1932, in Florence County, a son of the late Ellis Turner and Lula Poston Turner. He was the retired owner of B. L. Turner Construction Company and a United States Navy Veteran. Surviving are: His wife, Louise P. Turner of Pamplico; his children, Laraine Owen and her husband, Steve of Columbia, Jeffrey Turner and his wife, Paula of Pamplico, Melinda Daniels and her husband, John of Clyde, NC, and Robynn Powell of Pamplico; grandchildren, Jenny Owen, Spencer Powell, Erin Daniels, Taylor Powell, Jay Daniels, Mason Powell and Colby Turner; great-grandchild, Braedyn Ross; brothers, Willie Turner of Lake City, Albert Turner of Pamplico, Harold Turner and his wife, Inez of Hemingway, Maxie Turner and his wife, Lib of Florence, and Russell Turner and his wife, Debbie of Myrtle Beach; brother and sister-in-laws, Buster and Gail Timmons and Sam and Helen Blackwell. He was predeceased by a son, Bennie Franklin Turner, a brother, Ernest Turner and a sister, Beatrice Chandler. Graveside funeral services will be at 3:30 P.M. Sunday, February, 27, 2011, at Riverside Cemetery, Pamplico, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 East Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton, and other times at the home: 942 W. Highway 378-Hannah, Pamplico, SC.
