Hastie, Andre

Mr. Andre Hastie, 52, of Neptune, NJ died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at his home. Andre was born in Florence, South Carolina and raised in Tinton Falls, NJ. A graduate of Monmouth Regional High School, Class of 1977, he earned his Bachelor of Industrial Engineering degree in 1981 from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA. In 1986, he completed his Master of Business Administration from Monmouth College. Like his father, Andre worked as a civil servant in the Department of Defense at Fort Monmouth. He joined in 1981 and was there until his passing. Andre was an avid traveler and photographer. He became the first male lifetime member of the North Shore Area Section of the National Council of Negro Women. Survivors include: his brothers, Gerald Hastie of Dallas, TX and Jeffrey Hastie of New Rochelle, NY; nieces, Jordan and Tyler Hastie of Newark, DE, and Ruby Hastie of New Rochelle, NY; and nephew, Noah Hastie of New Rochelle, NY.
