Canterbury, Thelma

Mrs. Thelma Doss Canterbury, age 83 of Laurinburg passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Canterbury was born December 13, 1927 in Prenter, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Kiley and Lottie Michaels Doss and the beloved wife of the late Charles Canterbury. She worked with United Technology retiring after many years of service. Thelma loved her family and enjoyed her time with them. Surviving are her children, sons, Charles Canterbury, Jr., and wife Jennie of Hudson, FL, Edgar “Sonny” N. Canterbury of East Hampton, CT; her daughters, Hazel A. Kelly and husband Jim of Laurinburg, Mary L. Rogoz of Meriden, CT; brothers, Macil Doss of West Virginia, Estel Doss of Commerce City, CO, Carl Doss of Racine, WV; sisters, Hazel Skeen of Wellston, OH, Violet Williams of Danville, WV, Irene Doss of Prenter, WV, ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday at Richard Boles Funeral Service. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden, CT.
