Knotts, Marie Galloway

Marie Galloway Knotts, age 90 of Lamar, died Monday, February 14, 2011. Born May 1, 1920 in Darlington County, she was the daughter of the late Eddie and Viola Amerson Galloway. Marie was married to the late Lloyd Knotts and was a member of Lamar Baptist Church. She was a hard worker and a loving mom. Surviving are her three sons: Travis (Lou) Knotts of Lamar, Eddie (Connie) Knotts of Hartsville, Lloyd (Hazel) Knotts of Timmonsville; two daughters: Myrtle Jefferson, Linda Nettles both of Florence; twelve grandchildren and many great and great -great grandchildren. Marie was predeceased by two sons, Trellis Knotts, Larry Knotts and all of her brothers and sisters. The family would like to express special thanks to the nurses and staff of Hospice Care of South Carolina for their care and support, Also, a special thanks to her daughter-in-law, Hazel Knotts who acted as a wonderful caregiver. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday, February 15 at Belk Funeral Home of Lamar and other times at the home of Lloyd Knotts, 2721 Van Hauten Dr, Timmonsville, SC 29161 Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 16 in the Chapel of Belk Funeral Home in Lamar with interment in Newman Swamp Cemetery.
