Currin, Glenn Edward
Glenn Edward “Ed” Currin of Laurinburg passed away on Monday, February 14, 2011 at FirthHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Ed was born in Columbus, Georgia on October 8, 1938, son of the late Norman and Maybell Huggins Currin. He served proudly in the United States Navy. His life work was in sales. He was an Insurance Agent with more than 40 years of service and then in retail sales for Farmer‘s Furniture. He served as a faithful member of Saint Luke United Methodist Church and loved the game of bowling. Ed was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. Ed is survived by his daughters, Valeria Adams and husband Randy of Loris, SC, Kandi Dittrich and husband Kevin of Odessa, TX, Merry Hardin and husband Donnie of Lumberton, NC; his very special friend, Gillie Ann Edward of Laurinburg; a brother, Preston Ray Currin of New Orleans, LA; sisters, Juanita Alexson of Bennettsville, SC, Geneva Callahan of Lumberton, NC; seven grandchildren, Faith Lauren Currin, Matthew Neal Lawson, Logan Dittrich, Jonathan Quincy Adams, Chandler McLean Adams, Casey Harold Hardin and Carolina Grace Hardin. Visitation will be held immediately following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall. The memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Saint Luke United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. David Blackmon. Interment will be held at a later date in the Saint Luke United Methodist Church Columbarium.
