Minnie Lee Wooten Stone of 222 C Plaza Road formerly of 1481 Kiser Rd. passed away Wednesday, Feb. 2 at Morrison Manor. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Jean Stone of Laurinburg; sister, Nettie Gertrude Coleman of Oak Island; grandson, Stephen Kelly Stone of Winston-Salem; granddaughters, Angelea Lea Stone of Raleigh, Jennifer Le-Kel Stone of Laurinburg, and Whitney Renee (William) Locklear of Maxton; great grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Stone, Shannon Leigh Stone, Johnathan Lamont Wright, Jenna Larissa Stone, and Joshua Logan Stone of Laurinburg, Tiffany Shaya‘nne Locklear, Kellie Renee Stone, and Aerieal Kaya Locklear of Maxton; great grandchildren, Austin Taylor “Lil-man” or “Sweet Pea” Farris and MacKenzey Taylee “BooBoo” Farris of the home; nieces & nephews, Stonna Lea and David Goodwin of Brooksville, FL, Reba Lynn and Dwight Wagoner of Oak Island, Robert and Dee Coleman of Greensboro, and a special niece, Ann (Bobby) Nelson of Kernersville; two great granddogs, Dinky Dog and Tuggalicious. She was born April 13, 1926 in Gastonia, a daughter of the late Hester Taylor Wooten. She was a 38 year employees of Toastmaster. “Nanny” enjoyed reading, crochet, and baking her famous Iron skillet cornbread, and taking care of 5 generations of her family. A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Hillside Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
