LAKE CITY: Mrs. Sue McMillan Lane McKnight, 81, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 6th, 2011 after a long illness. Mrs. McKnight was born in Horry County on November 21st, 1929. She was a daughter of the late Joseph Bright McMillan and the late Lula Mae Weatherford McMillan. Mrs. McKnight was the widow of Gene R. “Buck” Lane, and was the wife of Terry McKnight. She was a member of Gilead Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. McKnight worked for Lake City School District 3 for thirty-seven years and for Florence County Disabilities and Special Needs for sixteen years. She worked with Karos Prison Ministries in Bennettsville and with Seaside Emmaus of Garden City. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Mrs. McKnight‘s surviving family includes her husband, Terry McKnight, of the home; her three children, Mack Lane, of Pamplico, Joe Lane (Susan), of Pamplico, and Ivey Revell (Rick), of Florence; her sister, Mary Louise Long, of Conway; her four grandchildren, Jennifer McClam, of Florence, Mary Lane Cox (Ryan), of Pamplico, Roy Cribb (Caley), of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and Codee Hughes (Robert), of Savannah, Georgia; her three great-grandchildren, Lane Cox, of Pamplico, Addison Cox, of Pamplico, and Tristen Cribb, of Camp Lejeune. Mrs. McKnight was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Cribb. The family of Mrs. McKnight will have visitation from one until three o‘clock p.m., Wednesday, February 9th, 2011 in the funeral home. Memorial services for Mrs. McKnight will be held at three o‘clock p.m., Wednesday, February 9th, 2011 in the Brockington Funeral Home Chapel. Brockington Funeral Home, Lake City, is in charge.
