DARLINGTON: Ms. Kathleen Rudeen Evans, 82, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 3rd, 2011 after a brief illness. Ms. Evans was born in Scranton on August 28th, 1928. She was a daughter of the late Charlie Evans and the late Kate Delilah Benton Evans. Ms. Evans was a member of Scranton United Methodist Church. She was a loving, caring, and giving person. Ms. Evans had a quite and gentle disposition about her. She enjoyed giving – be it cooking, helping, or baby-sitting. Ms. Evans was a loving and devoted sister who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Ms. Evan‘s surviving family includes her three sisters, Eulalee McLeod, of Scranton, Gladys Flinn, of Scranton, and Ruby McAlister, of Darlington; and a host of nieces and nephews. Ms. Evans is preceded in death by her siblings, Dardnella Feagin, Dorothy Sabo, Laverne Evans, and Harry Evans. Funeral services for Ms. Evans will be held at two o‘clock p.m., Sunday, February 6th, 2011 in the Scranton United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Scranton United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family of Ms. Evans will receive friends and guests in the Church Fellowship Hall following the committal in the cemetery.
