Davis, Joyce Dianne Hancock

Joyce Dianne Hancock Davis, of Darlington, age 58, died Thursday, January 27, 2011 in Asheville, North Carolina. Born March 24, 1952, in Darlington County , she was the daughter of the late William P. and Bert McKenzie Hancock. Joyce enjoyed going to the mountains, loved her grandchildren and gospel music. She attended Temple Free Will Baptist Church and had retired from the Darlington County School District as a cafeteria manager for Cain Elementary. Surviving are a son, Clint Watkins, a daughter, Carol Watkins (Ed) Launer , all of Maggie Valley, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Erica Ray, James Launer, Allyson Jones, Branson Jones; and two brothers, Dwayne(Diane) Hancock and Wayne Hancock and her step-mother, Janie Hancock. She is preceded in death by a sister, Carol Hancock. The family will be at 330 Society Hill Rd., Darlington. A visitation will be Saturday, January 29, from 2-3 P.M. at Belk Funeral Home with a graveside following in Grove Hill Cemetery.
