Scipio, Allean Louise Jett

Departed on Jan. 26, 2011 and resided in Florence, SC. Born in Darlington, SC on Feb. 20, 1921 Mrs. Allean Louise Jett Scipio was the seventh child out of eight children born to Rev. Arthur Jett, Sr. and Lyda Mack Jett on February 20, 1921 in Darlington, SC. She departed this life on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Honorage Nursing Center where she was a resident since 2004. Mrs. Scipio attended the public schools of Darlington County. She worked alongside her husband on the farm and enjoyed sewing. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing clothes for her family and others. She was united in holy matrimony to Anthony Calvin Scipio, Sr. in 1936. To this union ten children were born. Mrs. Allean Scipio accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at a young age. After marriage, she became a member of Snow Hill Baptist Church, Florence, SC where she sung on the Gospel Choir. Singing was her passion and joy throughout her life. Even after she became ill, she continued to have a tremendous singing voice. She loved righteousness; no matter what—you had to “get it right with God.” Mrs. Scipio was predeceased by her parents; husband, Anthony Calvin Scipio, Sr.; three children, George, Andrew and Annie Mae Scipio; seven siblings; and a son-in-law, Marion Bines. Left to cherish her memories are: seven children, Elease Bines, Calvin Scipio, Jr., Charlie (Elvira) Scipio, Gladys Coe, Ruby (Sidney) Gilbert, Helen (Arthur, Jr.) Stockton and Dorothy (Hamon) Graham; 28 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Julia Mae Scipio; son-in-law, William Coe; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, Honorage Nursing Center Staff and friends.
