Parker, Rembert Langley

Rembert Langley Parker, 86, of Lumberton, NC passed away Wednesday January 19, 2011 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. Mr. Parker was born on October 14, 1924 in Orrum, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents David Fulton Parker and Molly Sellers Parker, one brother Garth and sisters Myrtle Parker Green, and Dorothy Parker Horne. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Bobbie Louise Cottingham Parker, one son, Gene Ashley Parker, wife Bobbie of Orrum, NC, one daughter, Deborrah Parker Sisty, husband John, of Charlotte, NC, three grandchildren, Kyle A Parker, wife Holly of Chesapeake, VA, Season Sisty Coley, husband Thomas of Raleigh, NC and Parker R Sisty of Albuquerque, NM, and one great-grandson, Trent W Parker. Mr. Parker served in the United States Navy during WWII in the Pacific on LST606. He owned and operated Carolina Auto Supply in Lumberton from 1965 until his retirement in 1994. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Lumberton, and the Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons, Procterville #643. A graveside service will be held at Garden of Faith Cemetery 5190 Fayetteville Rd, Lumberton, Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM . Visitation will be at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, 809 E. 5th Street, Lumberton, NC from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 21, 2011. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Lumberton.
