Gleason, Ervin

Fork- Ervin Randall Gleason, 85, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 01, 2011 surrounded by his family. Mr. Gleason was born March 24, 1925 in Marion County, a son of the late William C. and Nannie Lane Gleason. He was an Army veteran having served his country in the Korean War. At age 30, he moved to Camden, South Carolina where he met and married his wife, Anne Rowell. He was an employee of Dupont for thirty-seven years. Upon his retirement, he returned to Fork, South Carolina where he lived until his death. He is remembered by his wife as a loving husband and devoted family man, and by his children as a man of great moral principles who set an example with his life. He was a master gardener, a man who could fix and build anything, and a devoted grandfather. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Anne Rowell Gleason, his son, Ervin Randall “Randy” Gleason, Jr. of Fork; two daughters, Deborah Gleason of Duluth, Georgia and Donna Miles Iwancio of Elgin, S.C.; four grandsons, David, Sean, and Christopher Miles and John Cooper; one brother, Rhett (Francis) Gleason of Darlington; three sisters, Pauline Allison of Fork, Winnie Waller of Warner Robbins, Georgia, and Shirley (Sherill) Lewis of Florence. Mr. Gleason was preceded in death in addition to his parents, by three brothers, Frank, Earl, and Everett Gleason. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 3, 2011 at Quaker Cemetery in Camden, South Carolina directed by Meares Funeral Home of Mullins, S.C.
