Currie, Wilhelm

Wilhelm “Bill” Currie, age 59 of Laurinburg passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at his home. Wilhelm, known as Bill, was born September 13, 1951 in Bavaria, West Germany, son of the late Joseph and Annemarie Becker Currie. He was employed with Lowe‘s Home Improvement and formerly worked with Nic‘s Pic Kwick. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Living Word. He was an avid sports fan, especially NASCAR and football. Billy was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother that will truly be missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Patricia Troublefield Currie of their home; sons, William Joseph Currie and wife Celeste of Laurel Hill, Jason Lee Currie and wife Tonya of Maxton; his daughter, Tracy Currie Stricklin and husband Johnny Jr., of Laurinburg; brothers, Joseph Y. Currie, Jr. of Laurinburg, Dietmar Weid of Jamestown; sisters, Margaret C. Reece of Dunn, Anneliese W. McCormick of Laurinburg and eight grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 1st at Richard Boles Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Linda Nelson. Burial will follow the service at Hillside Memorial Park.
