Annie Lorene McLamb “Lorene”, 85 years young, of Chesapeake, Virginia passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Ms. McLamb, a native of Lumberton, went to be with the Lord after a short battle with cancer on December 20, 2010. She was born November 3rd, 1925 in Robeson County. She retired from Southeastern General Hospital after many years of service working in the Labor and Delivery Unit, bringing many beautiful babies into this world. Left to cherish her memory are her childern: Son, Carey W. Sealey and his wife Faye of Evergreen, NC; Daughter, Betty F. Smith and her husband David of Chesapeake, Va; Son, Ricky McLamb and his wife Joan of Little River, SC; Daughter, Sandra McKee and her husband Jack of Chesapeake, VA and Son, Larry N. McLamb and his wife Renee of Lumberton, NC. “Granny” also leaves behind thirteen loving grandchildren and thirty-two beautiful great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Jetter and Onnie Sealey, her son Jimmy Dale McLamb, five brothers and sisters, and her two grandsons, Jimmy “Christopher” Boykin and Michael J. Boykin. A service to celebrate her life will be held at Hyde Park Baptist Church on Monday, December 27th at 1:00PM. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery. Pastor Dennis Harrell will officiate. A reception will follow the burial at Hyde Park Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 26th from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.
