Banus, Peter

Mr. Banus, 81, died December 11, 2010, in Florence. He was born July 14, 1929, in New Brunswick, NJ. Peter was a veteran of the United States Navy, and served his country during the Korean Conflict from 1948-1952. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee in 1956. In 1960 he moved his family to Florence to work with Jefferson Standard (WBTW). He worked his way up through the company as a Technician, a Camera Man, and eventually as a Television Director. Later he joined Motel Associates as a Restuarant Manager, and has been retired since 1995. Surviving in addition to his wife are: sons, Stephen Peter Banus of Virginia Beach, VA, and Christopher James (Gina) Banus of Jacksonville, NC; daughter, Angela Leigh (Keith) Long of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Joshua Moore, Christina Moore, Stephanie Banus, Alexander Banus, and James Gabriel Banus. A funeral service for Mr. Peter Banus, husband of Elizabeth Ann Banning Banus of 54 years will be at 11:00AM, Tuesday December 14, 2010 in Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum, conducted by the Rev. Ben Maynard and Rev. Glenn Carter. The family will receive friends at 10:00AM Tuesday at Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum.
